Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. would like to reports below as for the current damage, impact and activities from Tohoku Earthquake, which hit northeastern Japan on March 11, 2011.
- Situation of Damage
- 1) Employees
- There have been no reported injuries or missing of employees and their families.
- 2) Facilities
- Some of the equipments at Tochigi plant and at outsourcing manufacturers were damaged. The damages for the other plants and sites were not significant.
- Current Operations
We are halting the production of the above-stated damaged plants. The operations in the other plants and sites are as usual.
- Resumption Plans of the Damaged Plants
We aim all efforts at the recovery of the damaged plants. Once the resumptions plan is clear, we will announce it promptly.
- Future Activities of Nippon Paint Group
At this moment, the other plants are planning to cover the operation of the damaged plants keeping the stable supply to all customers.
Unfortunately, some of our vendors have concerns for the stable supply of the raw materials. We are also careful about the stable supply of the utility. Under these difficult conditions, Nippon Paint group promise all customers to do our best as one team. We highly appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this matter.
