This report was created to inform Nippon Paint stakeholders of its CSR practices based on its management principle of “contributing to the welfare of society through business activities.” We consider this report to be an important tool for communicating with our stakeholders, and we intend to strengthen our CSR efforts by incorporating valuable input from our stakeholders. In the publication of this report, we referred to the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) “Environmental Reporting Guidelines” (2007 edition) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) “Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.” The report also reflects the comments and opinions of readers of the previous year's report submitted through a questionnaire. Our policy is to obtain thirdparty verification for our CSR reporting once clear standards have been established.
This report covers environmental, social and economic aspects of activities implemented mainly by Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. It also describes some of the activities of its Japanese and overseas affiliates, including six companies in Japan with manufacturing facilities.
Fiscal 2010 (April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011). Some items outside this period (in April 2011 and beyond) are also included.
