As always, we would like to express our gratitude for your continued support for the activities of Nippon Paint and its group companies.
In 1881, Nippon Paint was established as the first paint manufacturer in Japan. Since then, we have been given the opportunity to play a pioneering role in the Japanese chemicals industry for more than 130 years. As early as the 1910s, the leaders of Nippon Paint clearly stated the need to serve as a responsible corporate citizen, and emphasized the importance of harmonious coexistence with all business partners. This philosophy has been firmly maintained as we live up to our management principles, which state that: "The Nippon Paint Group is committed to contributing to the welfare of society as a whole through its business activities, working together for the mutual harmony and benefit of everyone."
We are dedicated to creating a corporate structure and culture that equal those of the world's leading paint and coatings manufacturers. We stand ready to achieve this with our next medium-to-long term management plan, "Survival Challenge (Lean for Growth) Stage III," to be launched in April 2015. As president of Nippon Paint, I believe it is my responsibility to lead all of our employees in meeting this target, and I am fully dedicated to fulfilling this duty.
With full awareness as the leader of the paint industry, we will unite our group efforts to develop products and systems for the realization of a sustainable society. Our efforts to take on the challenge of joining the group of the world's top companies have only just begun. We will advance further efforts to enhance the value of the Nippon Paint Group, so as to meet and surpass the expectations of all our stakeholders.
Your support and guidance are greatly appreciated.
